Position Summary:
Our client is looking for an experienced Regional People Operations Manager to join their team in Chicago! This high-impact role manages and mentors an HR Business Partner who supports a large frontline workforce across several U.S. locations. Working from the corporate office, the Regional People Operations Manager partners with the HR Business Partner to provide Field Managers with support and strategy in employee relations, training, engagement, recruitment and retention strategies, and compliance. This position requires monthly market visits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the HR Business Partner in their collaboration with field management teams, providing guidance and direction on HR effectiveness across field locations
- Travel regularly and remotely lead the effectiveness of the HR-Operations partnership, maintaining strong relationships with both Field Management and frontline employees
- Leverage data analytics to drive actionable insights in workforce planning, leadership development, wage and hour compliance, and engagement
- Advise leaders and the HR Business Partner on complex employee relations issues, investigations, and all aspects of terminations
- Lead change management initiatives with agility and enthusiasm (e.g., M&A, HRIS upgrades, compliance projects, etc.)
- Collaborate with the VP of People Operations to recommend and implement scalable policies, procedures, and tools
- Lead training and development programs including internal university programs, LinkedIn Learning, and peer-to-peer training initiatives
- Provide guidance to Field Management on compliance with internal policy and applicable federal, state, and local laws
- Develop and execute rapid response plans for critical staffing needs and support field recruiting efforts in coordination with the Talent Acquisition Director
- Maintain accurate HR records and data within the HRIS, ensuring process adherence
- Support event planning for major company initiatives such as Culture Week, Grand Openings, Leadership Summits, and more
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
- 6+ years of HR experience supporting a large, multi-state frontline workforce in a service-oriented industry
- PHR or SHRM certification preferred
- Willingness and ability to travel monthly for market visits
- Strong organizational and time management skills in dynamic environments
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for people and HR
- Conflict resolution and relationship management experience at all organizational levels
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Proficient in HR systems and HRIS platforms; experience with UKG preferred
- Union experience a plus
