Summary: As Director of Facilities Engineering, lead global strategy, execution, and innovation across a diverse portfolio of 100+ locations worldwide, encompassing offices, labs, and manufacturing sites. Oversee all aspects of facilities design, construction, operations, and optimization, ensuring compliance with global standards and local regulations while enhancing sustainability, efficiency, and performance. Work will primarily take place in ADI’s office in San Jose, California.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to global engineering and project management teams across the Americas, APAC, and EMEA, delivering capital projects, site development, and ongoing operations in alignment with corporate goals.
- Oversee project initiation, charter development, and approval processes for global construction projects, ensuring strategic alignment, clear scope definition, and executive buy-in.
- Manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring completion on time and within budget by overseeing the preparation of plans, schedules, cost estimates, and execution strategies.
- Direct cross-functional teams and external consultants in the design and execution of architectural, mechanical, electrical, process piping, BMS, IT/AV, EHS and security systems for new construction, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Develop and optimize global programs to drive operational excellence, standardization, and innovation across the facilities portfolio.
- Collaborate with teams to achieve sustainability, energy efficiency, and site optimization initiatives aligned with enterprise ESG commitments.
- Ensure data integrity across the global space management platform to enable accurate occupancy planning and strategic decision-making.
- Manage CMMS platforms and maintenance optimization initiatives, including performance tracking, process standardization, and global deployment.
- Lead the development of enterprise engineering databases and facility condition scoring tools to support long-range asset planning and capital allocation.
- Maintain and evolve global MEP and BMS design standards to improve system reliability, energy performance, and vendor consistency.
- Manage the global OpEx and CapEx budgeting framework, enabling effective financial planning, prioritization, and control of facilities investments and maintenance programs.
- Provide engineering and operational support to global manufacturing sites, focusing on infrastructure reliability, energy optimization, and cost reduction.
- Coordinate with various departments (EHS, IT, Finance, Procurement, Legal, etc.) for ongoing operations and strategic initiatives.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, team capability building, and technology adoption to modernize facilities operations and elevate service delivery.
- Plan and execute other specific responsibilities as identified by company management with a cost-effective approach.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in facilities management.
- Semiconductor experience is a plus.
- Current knowledge of energy-efficient approaches for offices, data centers, and test areas.
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing, understanding).
- Familiarity with architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hazardous materials, and fire safety systems design and specs.
- Strong understanding of governmental regulations for environment, health, safety, and compliance.
- Good computer skills with proficiency in EXCEL, WORD, PowerPoint, Smartsheets, MS Project, AUTOCAD, etc.
- Good people skills, ability to multi-task, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
- Quality and safety oriented.
- Self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision.
