Job Description
The National Association for Hispanic Elderly/Asociacion Nacional Pro Personas Mayores (NAFHE/ANPPM) is seeking a new President. The President oversees the management, health, and growth of the organization.
NAFHE/ANPPM is a national non-profit organization based in Pasadena, California, with eight regional offices across Arizona, California, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of over 30 staff members at headquarters and in the field.
- Manage all aspects of NAFHE/ANPPM’s participation in the Department of Labor’s Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP) grant.
- Represent the organization at conferences, events, and in national coalitions.
- Oversee development and finances for a membership organization.
- Monitor local, state, and federal legislation affecting the organization.
- Lead external communications, develop, and maintain media relationships, and serve as an issue expert for media inquiries and interviews.
- Author, edit, and pitch stories and opinion pieces for traditional and new media outlets.
- Create, launch, and participate in issue advocacy campaigns.
- Develop, negotiate, and manage business relationships with vendors.
- Create, manage, and track the organizational budget.
- Build and maintain relationships with national non-profit organizations, elected officials, and government agencies at all levels.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 20 years’ experience in federal government and/or non-profit organizations.
- Experience leading teams in non-profit and federal settings.
- Knowledge of developing and implementing federal, state, and local regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Expertise in procurement, technology integration, and organizational growth strategies.
- Experience managing political, issue advocacy, and communication campaigns.
- Proven media spokesperson with experience engaging with elected officials and at conferences.
- Experience working with publicity and polling firms on messaging strategies.
- Proven ability to write, seek, and manage grants from private foundations and other sources.
- Experience developing relationships with private donors and managing diverse income streams.
- Ability to develop and manage organizational budgets in compliance with laws and guidelines.
- Self-motivated leader with experience managing staff both in person and remotely.
- Background in federal grant processes, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Skilled in creating communications products, including videos, websites, social media content, and informational materials.
- Expertise in cloud-based IT solutions for both private and government sectors.
- Strong public speaking skills and experience participating in coalitions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and virtual meeting platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
- Willingness to travel domestically and regionally.
