Job Overview:
A San Francisco-based law firm is seeking a highly skilled Associate Attorney to join its Intellectual Property practice, with a concentration in Hatch-Waxman litigation and pharmaceutical patent matters. This role offers the opportunity to represent clients in complex life sciences disputes, involving regulatory and technical issues under the Hatch-Waxman Act. Ideal candidates will bring a combination of litigation experience, scientific insight, and a passion for defending innovation.
Duties:
Manage all stages of Hatch-Waxman litigation, including pre-filing analysis, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
Draft and revise legal documents, including briefs, discovery responses, expert reports, and dispositive motions
Participate in strategy development for ANDA cases and related regulatory disputes
Conduct legal research and provide analysis on patent law and FDA-related matters
Collaborate closely with technical experts and scientific teams
Prepare for and attend court hearings, depositions, and client meetings
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in Hatch-Waxman or pharmaceutical patent litigation
Demonstrated knowledge of the Hatch-Waxman Act and related regulatory frameworks
Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment
Technical degrees in chemistry, biology, or related fields
Admission to a U.S. State Bar and in good standing
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
USPTO admission is a plus
