At 1910 Genetics, we first established an understanding of the molecular basis of disease to the granularity at which the world understands sickle cell anemia. This understanding centers biology as our North Star and drives our integration of artificial intelligence (AI), computation, and biological automation to accelerate the design of small molecule and protein therapeutics.

Recent advances in computational technologies have placed historically “undruggable” targets within therapeutic reach. But at 1910 Genetics, we often say “Biology is King,” meaning that computational technologies are only impactful in drug discovery when driven by experimental biology. Our platforms’ scale and breadth empower us to be therapeutic area-agnostic with programs ranging from neuroscience and immunology to infectious disease and oncology, to name a few.

You are an empathetic engineering manager

• Work alongside biologists and medicinal/computational chemists while leading your team of AI/ML engineers developing groundbreaking technology platforms that apply AI/ML concepts to drug discovery.
• Mentor, coach and guide the professional and technical development of the engineering team; giving regular 1:1 feedback with engineering team members.
• Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the code, architecture, processes, and ways of working.

You architect and scale world-class machine learning infrastructure

• Scale AI/ML infrastructure on AWS.
• Design, develop, and deploy tools for ML automation at scale.

You build innovative machine learning & AI models

• Act as both an Individual Contributor (IC), who can roll up their sleeves, and play an important role in our mission to use AI/ML to develop drugs, as well as a leader who can build and grow the engineering team over time.
• Determine the feasibility of projects through quick prototyping with respect to performance, quality, time and cost.
• Create data streams and pipelines to source the necessary data for ML modeling.

You are passionate about drug discovery & development

• Exposure to Biology and Chemistry at the Graduate/Undergraduate level is a plus.

You will be successful if you have...

• 2-5 years of technical project management experience.
• MS/PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
