Director Environment Health Safety

Job Description:

• Lead the development and implementation of EHS policies, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
• Act as the primary EHS advisor to senior leadership, influencing a culture of safety, responsibility, and zero incidents.
• Champion behavior-based safety, employee engagement, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to manage chemical compliance, SDS processes, and regulatory documentation.
• Serve as the primary liaison for regulatory agencies and third-party consultants.
• Maintain and optimize EHS information systems (such as Enablon) to support reporting, compliance tracking, and audit readiness.
• Lead EHS efforts tied to real estate transactions, M&A activity, and facility expansion or restructuring.
• Represent the organization in cross-regional forums for best practice sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
• (Master’s degree preferred)
• Minimum 10 years of EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and environmental regulations
• Strong experience in incident management, risk assessment, and compliance strategy
• Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence at all levels
• Proficiency in EHS platforms and reporting systems (e.g., Enablon)
