Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Human Resources Manager located in San Diego, CA.
The Human Resources Manager will oversee all HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, compliance, and training. They will also develop and implement HR policies and procedures, maintain employee records, and ensure regulatory compliance. The manager will be responsible for fostering a positive work environment and supporting organizational culture and engagement.
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Own all HR operations including onboarding, compliance, payroll, benefits, and employee relations.
- Handles current and former employee claims regarding areas of employments.
- Conducts orientation for new hires to review policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Maintains associate training programs for harassment, EEO, safety.
- Provides support to department supervisors as necessary to hire, train, coach, council, and terminations.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws; collaborate with company leadership and Legal when needed.
- Guide and interpret HR policies to both employees and company leadership.
- Develop in coordination with Marketing team, a company human resources website along with human resources related social media.
- Develop in coordination with VP and District Managers, training program and materials for new associates.
- Review, bidding, and administration of all insurance coverage including Medical, Dental, Life, liability, umbrella, property, and workers comp.
- Administration of bi-weekly payroll through ADP.
- Ensures positive employee relations through fair and consistent administration of Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Human Resources Industry Skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven success in building HR functions from scratch in a start up environment.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and compliance regulations (Experience with California regulations and/or multi-state administration is preferred.)
- Proven experience in employee relations, compliance, and performance management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to develop and implement policies and programs.
- Proficiency in HR software and systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
