Chief Science Officer
BioCloak , Inc. is developing novel, microplastic-free bio-encapsulation formulations for agriculture. Replacing petroleum and synthetic coatings for active ingredients in agriculture, landscaping, and animal nutrition with bio-based solutions.
We are seeking a results-driven and strategically-minded Chief Science Officer (CSO) to lead our product formulations strategy and grow our scientific team in New Jersey. This role is responsible for overseeing the scientific direction of the company, driving innovation in encapsulation technologies, and leading the development of sustainable, biodegradable delivery systems for animal feed and agricultural inputs. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in materials science, formulation science, and/or agricultural biotechnology, and have a proven track record of translating R&D into commercially viable products.

What You'll Be Doing:
Formulations Leadership:
External Collaboration: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry leaders to enhance the company's scientific capabilities and expand its network.
Talent Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of laboratory scientists, researchers, and technicians, fostering a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment.
Scientific Communication: Effectively communicate scientific findings and advancements to internal and external stakeholders, including investors, regulatory agencies, and the scientific community.
Intellectual Property: Manage and protect the company's intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all formulations activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and ethical guidelines.
What You'll Need:
Education: Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, engineering)

- Provide strategic vision and leadership for the company's formulations endeavors, aligning research priorities with business objectives.
- Oversee and direct all formulations research and development activities, ensuring the highest standards of scientific integrity and adherence to ethical guidelines.

- Serve as a trusted formulations advisor to the executive team and board of directors, providing expert guidance on scientific matters.

What You'll Need:

- Candidates with a master s degree with applicable expertise
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in formulations research and development, preferably in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of leading successful research projects and translating scientific discoveries into proven commercial products.
- Experience with intellectual property management and protection.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.
- Entrepreneurial drive and can do attitude
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Deep understanding of scientific principles and methodologies for encapsulation.
