About the Role
Tin Building is looking for a Retail Sales Specialist . Reporting directly to the Retail – General Manager , the Retail Sales Specialist is responsible for promoting and selling retail products and services to customers while delivering an exceptional guest experience. This role serves as a subject matter expert on the product assortment across the Retail department, greets and builds relationships with customers, assists with all inquiries, and drives retail sales. This individual plays an integral role in fostering an excellent customer shopping experience and aims for repeat business.
What you will do
Greet and welcome guests as they explore the retail spaces, creating a positive and inviting atmosphere.
Actively interact with guests and recommend products and restaurants with checkout items.
Assist guests in selecting and recommending products that meet their needs and preferences.
Provide product information, features, and benefits to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
Operate cash registers and process transactions accurately, following company policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, ensuring products are well-displayed and shelves are stocked.
Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall success of the store.
Stay up to date on product knowledge, promotions, and sales events to provide accurate information to customers.
Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally and effectively.
Participate in training programs to continuously improve product knowledge and customer service skills.
Upsell and cross-sell products to enhance the customer experience and maximize sales opportunities.
Work with the retail management team to implement merchandising and visual display guidelines.
Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves and conducting periodic stock checks.
Follow all safety and security protocols to ensure a safe shopping environment for customers and staff.
Operate cash registers and process transactions in a timely and effective manner.
Oversee and maintain high cleanliness standards for cashier work area.
Follow all organizational procedures for products displayed near/at the cash register area.
Follow proper cash handling procedures.
Present and cross utilize products to enhance the guest experience and maximize sales opportunities.
Perform all other tasks as duties as assigned and/or per business need.
About You
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Retail Salesperson and/or relevant equivalent experience in customer service.
Prior grocery, culinary, hospitality or specialty food experience preferred.
Exceptional guest service and interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication.
Ability to remain organized in a fast paced, hands-on environment.
Basic math skills for processing transactions.
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays, as required.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Professional demeanor and polished appearance.

Physical Requirements
Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10 – 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on a regular (or occasional basis).
Ability to stand for prolong periods of time.
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
Climbing steps regularly.
Compensation: $18 – 25 per hour
