Job Summary:
The Sales Director will drive Supermicro's go-to-market strategy, develop plans to expand into new markets and customer segments, and leverage our channels and strategic partnerships to generate revenue. The role requires cross-functional collaboration at all organizational levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to acquire and retain customer accounts.
- Identify, qualify, develop, and close sales in Financial Services, Enterprise, Data Centers/Cloud, Gaming, and HPC sectors.
- Conduct outbound calls to potential System integrators, VARs, and OEM customers.
- Identify revenue opportunities from high-level executives for senior management.
- Build a pipeline of short-term and long-term opportunities across target vertical markets.
- Manage inventory, negotiate prices, monitor orders, address credit issues, and handle returns.
- Travel to customer sites for product presentations and account management.
- Supervise and develop sales team members, manage performance, and provide training.
- Provide weekly sales reports and customer meeting/call summaries as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in server, storage, networking, or AI sales environments.
- Results-driven with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills, executive presence, and sound judgment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
- Willingness to utilize self-management skills.
- Ability to travel up to 15% or as needed.
Salary Range:
$159,000 - $193,000. The actual salary will depend on factors such as location, experience, education, and skills. Benefits include comprehensive packages, with potential bonuses and equity awards.
