IQ-EQ is a preeminent service provider to the alternative asset industry. We work with managers across various capacities, including hedge fund, private equity fund, and mutual fund launches; private equity fund administration; advisory firm setup, regulatory registration, and infrastructure design; ongoing regulatory compliance (SEC, CFTC, and 40 Act); financial controls and operational support services; compliance and operational reviews; and outsourced CFO/controller and administration services for private equity fund investments—portfolio companies, real estate, and energy assets. Our client base is growing, and existing clients engage us across our full spectrum of services.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with clients’ external auditors, administrators, HR/payroll, and other service providers.
- Deliver outsourced CFO and related services to Hedge Funds and Private Equity Funds.
- Collaborate with team members and clients, providing daily operational support.
- Create financial models, analyze budgets vs. actuals, and participate in ad-hoc financial analyses and projects.
- Review NAVs, allocations, investor statements, and reconciliations.
- Prepare expense & accrual schedules, management fee calculations, and incentive allocations.
- Assist in the preparation of fund and management company financial statements.
- Maintain accounting practices for assigned clients.
- Research accounting principles and advise teams/clients as needed.
- Evaluate current financial and accounting processes for new clients, propose improvements, and help implement them.
- Assist with opening clients’ brokerage and bank accounts.
- Coordinate and participate in weekly, monthly, or as-needed conference calls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in the alternative investment management industry (hedge fund, private equity, venture capital, real estate).
- Public accounting experience is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Passion for working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
- Hard-working, self-starter, dedicated, punctual, and personable.
- Strong accounting and analytical skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions quickly and competently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with QuickBooks, OpenAir, Bill.com, Expensify is a plus.
Additional Information
Salary ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 based on experience and location, with a full benefits package offered.
