Power and Utilities Portfolio Manager - VP

This role is responsible for underwriting, credit monitoring, and managing a portfolio of power project finance and utility relationships. The Portfolio Manager - VP independently handles underwriting and management of loan transactions, coordinating with relationship managers and the credit approval team. Responsibilities include preparing loan modifications, tracking covenant compliance, reviewing legal documents, maintaining credit files, and interfacing with various departments such as Risk Management, Legal, Loan Operations, and Credit Department. The role also involves reviewing and ensuring quality control of transactions handled by junior staff and supporting annual reviews and modifications.

This person will also:

• Maintain and grow loans, deposits, fee income, and referrals.
• Ensure portfolio administration and risk management comply with credit policies, procedures, business strategies, and regulatory guidelines.
• Depending on experience, co-manage client relationships by analyzing financial data, recommending loan structures, and managing client relationships proactively.
• Partner with Relationship Managers as the primary contact for clients, acting as a liaison to the Credit Department and other internal teams.
• Train and develop junior portfolio managers.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience. Required

Experience

• 4+ years in Commercial, Corporate, Real Estate, or Specialized Banking/Credit Approval. Required
• Extensive experience handling complex credits for 4+ years. Required
• 3+ years in Specialized Finance - Energy. Strongly preferred.
• 2+ years in sales. Preferred.
• 2+ years of formal credit training. Preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst). Preferred.

Must have access to reliable transportation and the ability to legally drive, if applicable. Required
