Director of Investment Operations & Chief of Staff

Sunnyvale, CA

In this role you will lead the strategic operations of Natcast's $500 million CHIPS Venture Fund while serving as Chief of Staff to the Investment Partners, orchestrating both investment processes and high-priority initiatives that advance America's semiconductor innovation ecosystem.

Every day you will drive operational excellence across investment activities, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and ensure seamless execution of strategic priorities while optimizing the Fund's ability to deploy capital effectively.

The CHIPS Venture Fund represents a historic opportunity to catalyze breakthrough technologies through strategic investment in semiconductor startups and emerging technologies.

The Director of Investment Operations serves dual roles as operational leader of the CHIPS Venture Fund and Chief of Staff to the Investment Partners. This position drives both investment excellence and strategic initiatives while ensuring seamless execution across all aspects of the Fund's activities.

Responsibilities:

Investment Operations Leadership:

• Design and implement investment operations infrastructure and processes

• Oversee deal flow management, due diligence coordination, and portfolio monitoring

• Lead investment analytics and reporting systems development

• Manage investment platform technology stack and operational tools

• Drive operational efficiency and process optimization

• Oversee investment compliance and documentation standards

Chief of Staff Duties:

• Drive strategic initiatives and special projects for Investment Partners

• Prepare materials for investment committee and board meetings

• Manage stakeholder relationships and communication flows

• Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with broader organization

• Support strategic planning and execution

• Orchestrate high-priority projects and time-sensitive deliverables

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field

• 8+ years experience in venture capital operations or investment banking

• Demonstrated leadership in investment operations

• Excellence in financial analysis and modeling

• Superior project and process management capabilities

• Outstanding written and verbal communication

• Proven ability to manage executive relationships

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

• Track record of leading complex initiatives

• MBA or technical advanced degree

• Semiconductor industry experience
