Regional Managing Director, Construction & Infrastructure-Southeast

What the day will look like

As the face of the firm in the Southeastern region, this individual will play a critical leadership role in driving strategic initiatives, overseeing financial performance, and cultivating a strong, collaborative culture. This Leader will be responsible for attracting and developing top talent, ensuring your team is empowered to deliver exceptional client outcomes, and positioning Aon as the trusted advisor of choice within the C & I industry.

Leadership & Strategic Growth:

• Lead and be responsible for the local leadership team, ensuring alignment with company objectives and a collaborative working environment.

• Drive consistent growth and margin expansion through effective strategic execution.

• Maintain strong client retention, satisfaction, and long-term relationships by ensuring quality and timely delivery of services.

• Establish and lead a robust pipeline of revenue opportunities and talent, working proactively to secure future business and talent for the organization.

• Represent the firm as the regional face, building the brand and networking within the community and industry.

Financial Management & Reporting:

• Supervise the budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance for the region, ensuring accurate P&Ls and revenue walks.

• Analyze types of revenue and ensure appropriate coverage ratios to maintain financial health.

• Implement and maintain effective scorecards, reporting systems, and finance timelines.

• Ensure the region’s free cash flow is optimized , using financial systems and tools to track progress.

• Strategize and implement the growth, maintenance, and harvesting of financial resources for sustained success.

Strategy & Execution:

• Collaborate with the executive team to develop and complete the regional business strategy, aligning with company-wide objectives .

• Implement industry-specific strategies and tactics that optimize market opportunities while ensuring high performance and profitability.

Talent Management & Development:

• Lead and support colleague engagement initiatives, promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment.

• Develop and maintain a strong recruiting pipeline, ensuring the right talent is identified and hired for future needs.

• Supervise goal setting and performance management processes, ensuring alignment with individual and organizational objectives .

• Champion onboarding programs, compensation strategies, and talent development programs to enhance colleague experience.

• Drive succession planning efforts, ensuring a robust pipeline of leaders for future growth and business continuity.

Travel: This position requires approximately 25% travel within the Southern and Western region Aon offices, client meetings, and industry events. The frequency of travel will vary based on project demands and business needs.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• Required Construction & Infrastructure Surety Insurance knowledge within a brokerage/carrier

• 10+ years Proven experience in a leadership role within the construction and infrastructure industry, with a track record of driving financial performance and operational success.

• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, P&L management, and financial reporting.

• Exceptional talent leadership skills within multiple locations, including recruiting, performance management, and developing high-performing teams.

• Strong client-facing and relationship management abilities, with a focus on long-term partnerships.

• Proven track record to develop and implement pivotal initiatives and lead growth effectively.

• Knowledge of industry trends, challenges, and best practices.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Education : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

• A Property and Casualty Brokers License is required , or must be obtained within 120 days of hire if not already active

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $300,000-$400,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
