Description
Voices Academies Talent Acquisition Specialist will be an inspiring and motivating leader who can work independently. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager and Director of Human Resources, t he primary responsibility of the Talent Acquisition Specialist will be to support the selection and cultivation efforts of the Talent Team, with an emphasis on recruitment s trategies aligned with the vision of the Network to attract mission-aligned, highly-qualified talent for open positions at Voices Academies. . The Talent Acquisition Specialist will support in full cycle recruitment, screening resumes, conducting interviews, conducting regular outreach through social media and career fairs, build strategic partnerships with community-leaders and higher-ed institutions/programs, extending offer and work in collaboration with HR to ensure effectiveness during the onboarding and support overall Voices Academies talent recruitment efforts and HR related tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruitment and Talent:
- Perform day to day recruitment processes including sourcing, resume reviews and phone screens for school and central office roles
- Work closely with hiring managers to coordinate interviews
- Strong relationship building and ongoing communication with applicants and prospective candidates
- Create and update job descriptions and interview materials
- Conduct new hire reference checks
- Work closely with the Director of HR to develop and drive recruiting and talent strategies with the goal of attracting diverse, highly qualified teachers, school operations staff, paraprofessionals, and CMO staff
- Develop and leverage relationships with candidate sources and partner with education community organizations
- Assist the Recruitment Manager with process improvement and systems-building efforts, including data analysis and codification of talent practices
- Support HRt during onboarding new hires
- Train and support new hiring managers on Voices hiring practices
- Create and extend offer materials to candidates
- Experienced in the teacher credentialing process, including guiding candidates through certification requirements, application procedures, and compliance with state education standards.
- Evaluate transcripts for teaching positions to determine if they qualify for the credential or permit needed for the position.
- Request Certificate of Clearance (COC) and Substitute Teaching Permit for new hires who qualify.
Marketing and Outreach:
- Assist Talent Team in the creation of newsletters during hiring season
- Assist with social media communication through multiple online channels such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter etc.
- Plan and attend events and job fairs throughout Northern California, often on evenings and weekends
- Maintain relationships with talent partners
- Collaborate with other team members to create/design promotional recruitment materials
- Assist the Director of HR with International Recruitment Projects
- Assist in various projects as needed
Qualifications
Voices Academies Talent Associate candidates will have the following;
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or related experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of recruitment, marketing, outreach, or related experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience giving formal presentations and trainings strongly preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Outstanding project management and extraordinary attention to detail
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Apps
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
- Must have reliable transportation
- Works well in a high pressure environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience working with low-income communities preferred
and demonstrated understanding of recruiting bilingual educators
- Experience in supporting HR/talent functions within an organization
- Proficient in the use of social media and job boards
- Understanding of dual language instructional practices and school design and the unique characteristics of public charter schools is a plus
- Flexible, results-oriented team player who is dedicated to getting the job done
Working Conditions:
- Regular requirement to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Seasonal evening and/or weekend work
- Extensive travel during recruitment season
- Willingness to be trained as needed
Prior to Employment : Once an offer has been extended, a candidate must meet the following criteria to receive a final agreement:
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
- Clear Criminal Background Check
- Valid TB Clearance
Key Compensation:
- Salary range $74,000 to $82,000
