WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You’ll report to the Sr Director, Global Brand Creative, and work daily with peers in Brand Creative, Brand Management, Sports Marketing, Consumer Engagement, Digital Direct, Brand Planning, and Brand Operations. You will also collaborate closely with the Brand Creative team.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We seek a Global Brand Creative Senior Principal Designer to lead our Basketball and Catalyst categories. As a key member of the Global Brand Creative team, you will develop world-class seasonal marketing creative that impacts the Converse brand and business. Your role involves cross-functional and international collaboration to shape the future of Converse as an authentic street-style brand for youth.
The ideal candidate is a multidisciplinary creative experienced in Art Direction, Graphic Design, Typography, and Spatial Design. You should excel in collaborating with other creatives and marketing teams, delivering emotive, innovative work across platforms. Leadership, mentorship, and team collaboration are essential qualities.
You should have experience directing creatives, working with writers, strategists, and producers, and be comfortable participating in strategic discussions. Ability to manage complex projects independently, attention to detail, and a passion for art and design in Sport and Fashion are crucial. Staying updated on trends, commissioning external talent, and understanding digital storytelling are also important.
Your responsibilities include implementing creative across channels, from photo direction to environmental design, and understanding social and commerce platforms' trends.

- Minimum of 10+ years in art direction or design, preferably in consumer brands.
- Bachelor's degree in Design or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication and coaching skills.
- Proven design skills: drawing, typography, ideation, color, texture, art direction, visual presentation, layout.
- Ability to innovate and elevate brand standards with comprehensive design process knowledge.
- Experience directing photography, illustration, and external agencies.
- Knowledge of current design trends, especially in graphic design and lifestyle.
- Technical knowledge of digital and innovative practices.
- Ability to distill briefs creatively.
- Effective collaboration with various stakeholders, embracing shared workstreams.
- Passion for reinventing traditional workflows, challenging norms.
- Good judgment, decision-making, emotional intelligence, growth mindset.
- Excellent English communication and relationship management skills.
- Passion for sports, sports lifestyle, and culture.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Develop seasonal brand stories for Basketball and Catalyst categories.
- Research and select photographers, talent, and collaborators; create mood boards for visual direction.
- Innovate in visual and digital storytelling methods.
- Create and update seasonal assets—imagery, copy, design systems.
- Develop creative briefs and manage asset delivery documentation.
- Design seasonal visual centers and toolkits translating complex concepts into clear communication.
- Manage multiple agency relationships with consistent creative standards.
- Collaborate with teams across North America, Europe, China, and global markets, including Innovation, Design, and Consumer Insights.
