The innovative, custom Invisalign clear aligner product is sold in over 100 countries. Align also manufactures and markets the iTero Element intra oral scanner. The company employs more than 18,000 people worldwide. The Director, Tax Operations reports to the VP, Tax & Treasury. This role is responsible for the worldwide tax provision, domestic tax compliance, and domestic tax controversy. The Director, Tax Operations will develop and lead a team in San Jose, California. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with tax accounting and reporting under ASC 740 for a US-based multi-national corporation. In this role, you will… Model changes in tax law, tax planning options, etc. Drive improvements in tax accounting processes to increase efficiency, decrease risk of error, and facilitate short close cycle Develop and maintain internal controls over the tax provision Manage relationships with Corp Accounting, FP&A, business development, and other stakeholders including external auditors Partner with external advisors in the preparation and review of US federal and state income tax returns Manage tax audits Monitor and evaluate impact of changes in US federal and state tax laws In this role, you’ll need … At least 12+ years relevant experience with a US based multinational or combination of US MNC and Big 4 accounting firm Experience with tax accounting and reporting under US GAAP in multinational context, including accounting for uncertain tax positions, and accounting for stock-based compensation Experience with US federal and state corporate tax compliance Strong analytical thinking and writing skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, including experience communicating complex tax issues and requirements to people without a tax background Proven track record of developing and leading a team to higher levels of performance Experience working with companies that have inventories and/or very short close cycles is preferred Sound like a good fit? Placement depends on the individual skills and experience level of a candidate plus the total compensation and equity across team members. For other locations outside of the primary location, the base salary range will be adjusted geographically. For field Sales roles, the salary listed is the base pay only and does not include the applicable commission plan. A cost of living adjustment may be added to base pay for higher cost areas in the U.S. Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
