We’re looking for a Director of Specification Sales - West Accent and Downlighting Products to join Cooper Lighting Solutions as a Home Based employee in the United States but ideally located in the western USA including Texas.

As the Director of Specification Sales-West Accent and Downlightingt products you will be responsible for the growth of Cooper Lighting Solutions specification products from brands such as Portfolio, Halo Commercial, Iris, RSA, Halo and Halo Track.

The position will require travel throughout Western North America, to work with a diverse and talented team of sales managers as well as independent manufacturing agents, to educate and motivate them to garner specifications leading to sales of three of the leading linear and ambient brands in the industry.

What you’ll do

• You will work closely with a diverse and dedicated team of regional sales managers to drive sales for key ambient lighting brands of Cooper Lighting Solutions.
• You will travel across the country (~50-60%) to work hand in hand with the regional managers and key sales agents to drive product awareness, understanding leading to increased sales.
• You will work closely with product development and marketing teams, identifying new lighting product ideas and applications, and prioritizing new product development.
• You will report out to senior leadership on key performance metrics.
• You will build relationships with key specifiers, and agents helping them solve their most complex ambient lighting challenges.

Your qualifications

• You should have in depth knowledge of lighting applications and products-particularly in general interior lighting.

• 7+ years of experience related to a specification sales role.

• You love the Strategic thinking process to help product development plan for the future.

• 5+ years of experience managing and/or partnering with local sales representatives (agencies and territory representatives).

• Demonstrated strong proficiency in managing and analyzing sales data and other pertinent information.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred.

In addition, with a diverse and knowledgeable team of technical sales professionals you will have the opportunity to gain connections and knowledge through outside organizations such as the IES, IALD LIRC, AIA, USGBC and IWBI.

Salary: $139,000 - $200,000

Bonus: Target 35% Sales Incentive bonus
