UW Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner Neurology for a job in MADISON, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Neurology Discipline: Nurse Practitioner Duration: Ongoing Employment Type: Staff Work Schedule: 100% FTE, Weekends, 12 hour shifts, rotating day and night hours. Come provide care to adults with serious neurological illnesses in our Neuroscience ICU. At UW Health – an academic medical center and Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Program – you will treat the most complex trauma and stroke cases in the state. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) : Collaborate with faculty, residents, fellows, surgeons, and nursing staff to provide on-going patient care and management. Partner with a larger team including Neurosurgery, Neurocritical Care and Neurology to provide medical and perioperative care during critical illness. Perform routine clinical procedures independently as outlined in practice agreements/scope of practice. This unique advisory council serves to promote, support, advocate and advise on APP practice and provide expertise and counsel on APP roles across the organization. Education: Minimum – If Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program. If Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program. Licenses and Certifications: Minimum – State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure If Nurse Practitioner*: Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following: Acute Care only (Adult or Adult/Gerontology will be considered only if previous ICU experience).
