Our client, a well-established and highly regarded general contractor in the Austin area, is seeking a Project Engineer to support and oversee key K-12 construction projects. Overview
As a Project Engineer, you'll play a vital role in supporting on-site construction activities, coordinating with project stakeholders, and ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, and schedule performance. You’ll be the go-to liaison between the field and office, ensuring smooth communication and execution throughout each phase of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day on-site operations and coordination with subcontractors and field teams
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, project specifications, and timelines
- Collaborate with Project Managers, architects, engineers, and inspectors to resolve issues
- Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, RFI tracking, and submittals
- Monitor project milestones and help identify and mitigate potential delays
- Conduct quality checks and assist with punch list management and project close-out
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent role on K-12 or Higher Education construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction practices, building codes, and safety regulations
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project documents
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.)
Compensation & Benefits
- $75,000 - $95,000 base salary
- Auto allowance
